Day 1 | November 13

“Music City USA” turns on the lights, over two million of them, for their Country Christmas celebration. As we begin our tour, we can relax and get acquainted with fellow travelers, all eager to enjoy the special activities that Nashville has waiting for us. Overnight – Galesburg, IL

Day 2 | November 14

This morning we cross both the Mississippi River and the Ohio River before arriving in Paducah, KY, “Quilt City USA.” Our first stop is at the National Quilt Museum, with over 150 contemporary and traditional quilts. A Paducah Guided City Tour includes the historic downtown, life size portraits of the city’s colorful past painted on the floodwall, and Whitehaven, an 1860s mansion with a room filled with memorabilia of Alben Barkley, former vice president under Harry Truman. Overnight – Paducah, KY (B)

Day 3 | November 15

A short drive brings us to Nashville, the home of country music, and the Gaylord Opryland Resort, our fabulous home for the next two nights. We begin our Christmas events with ICE! Artists have carved nearly two million pounds of ice into larger than life themed monuments and colorful ice sculptures. We find good food and holiday entertainment on the General Jackson Showboat Luncheon Cruise. An Opryland Hotel and Garden Tour gives us a chance to explore our home away from home and stroll through nine acres of indoor gardens. The hotel also hosts the Hall of Trees, the biggest Christmas tree show in the city. This evening we will be enjoying Lorrie Morgan’s Enchanted Christmas Dinner and Show. Because our rooms are here, we will want to step outside to marvel at the spectacular Opryland Christmas Lights. Overnight – Nashville, TN (B) (L) (D)

Day 4 | November 16

At this morning’s Treasures for the Holidays craft, antique and art show, we might find the perfect gift for someone on our Christmas list. A Nashville Guided City Tour takes us past major sights in the city and homes of some of the stars. The rest of the day is devoted to country music, with an afternoon visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and an evening at the Grand Ole Opry in the historic Ryman Auditorium. Overnight – Nashville, TN

Day 5 | November 17

After two days of Christmas luxury, it is with reluctance that we leave Nashville this morning. Our drive takes us to Hannibal, MO, to the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum on the west bank of the Mississippi River. We continue north through Missouri before resting tonight. Overnight – Canton, MO

Day 6 | November 18

Our own Christmas decorating may be on a smaller scale, but the memories of Nashville’s holiday lights and music will long be remembered. (B)
