Day 1 | November 28 | Overland Park

Bound for Louisiana today, we overnight in Kansas. Evening Accommodations at Drury Inn & Suites Kansas City Overland Park

Day 2 | November 29 | Little Rock

Upon arriving in Little Rock, enjoy a private tour and included dinner at the Marlsgate Plantation. The plantation reflects an era when cotton grew tall and there was a privileged class of wealth in the Arkansas Delta. Day 3 | November 30 | LaPlace

Continuing your journey to the deep south, you arrive in Louisiana this afternoon. Evening Accommodations at Holiday Inn Express & Suites LaPlace * Breakfast Included

Day 4 | December 1 | LaPlace

This morning enjoy a guided tour and authentic Cajun lunch at Oak Alley Plantation. Built at a time when the sugar industry was flourishing, Oak Alley has survived the testament of time. After lunch, take a guided tour of St. Joseph Plantation one of the few fully intact sugar cane plantations in the River Parishes. This plantation offers you numerous outbuildings to explore, including slave cabins, detached kitchen, blacksmith shop and more. Your final plantation tour of the day is San Francisco Plantation. Considered to be the only “Grand Mansion” on the River Road, it features elaborate gingerbread work and five hand-painted ceilings, it is considered to be the most opulent plantation in the South. Dinner tonight will be at Frenier Landing with local favorites such as Seafood Gumbo and Fried Catfish. Day 5 | December 2 | LaPlace

Your day starts with a guided tour of Evergreen Plantation. Considered the most intact plantation complex in the south, with the main building dating back to 1790. It boasts 37 buildings including 22 slave quarters and was originally built to farm for indigo. It also has the highest historic designation, joining Mount Vernon and Gettysburg. The evening concludes with another amazing dining experience featuring local delicacies including buttermilk pie! Day 6 | December 3 | LaPlace

Today you start at Whitney Plantation in St. John the Baptist Parish. This is the only plantation museum in Louisiana dedicated to understanding the facts and legacies of slavery. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour at Destrehan Plantation followed by the Houmas House Plantation and Gardens guided tour. Houmas House is known as “The Crown Jewel of Louisiana’s River Road.” At one time it was the largest producer of sugar cane in the country. Dinner tonight is at The Carriage House on the plantation. Day 7 | December 4 | New Orleans

You begin the day at Laura, a Creole Plantation, home of the 1870’s slave story that was later translated into English and became the well known children’s story, “Tales of Br’er Rabbit.” A full afternoon at Mardi Gras World includes a guided tour, mask making, and dinner. Day 8 | December 5 | New Orleans

This morning will be spent at the National WWII Museum and includes a guided tour of the museum and a viewing of Beyond All Boundaries in the Solomon Victory Theater. Lunch will be at the museum restaurant, followed by a guided tour of the city of New Orleans and history Cemetery. Your day concludes after a cooking demonstration and dinner at Crescent City Cooks. Day 9 | December 6 | Lafayette

Step on the Creole Queen for a river cruise with a costumed re-enactor who takes you on a journey through the history of the city as you sail down river to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park. A shore excursion through the battlefield is included. At the conclusion of the cruise, enjoy a guided tour of Nottoway Plantation starting with a welcome reception on the mansion’s front lawn. Your costumed guide will lead the tour and describe Nottoway’s colorful history. Evening Accommodations at Drury Inn & Suites Lafayette * Breakfast Included

Day 10 | December 7 | Texarkana

This morning take a guided tour of Melrose Plantation where you can discover the 200 year history of the plantation and the family of Claude Thomas Pierre Metoyer. Day 11 | December 8 | Oklahoma City

Beginning the journey home, you are Oklahoma bound. Upon arriving, enjoy the interactive Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum and learn the story of the Oklahoma Federal Building bombing. Evening Accommodations at Hampton Inn & Suites Oklahoma City * Breakfast Included

Day 12 | December 9 | Council Bluffs
